Smorgasburg Los Angeles

For those of us wondering what would happen to American Apparels gigantic Downtown warehouse, rest assured. Something (not) bigger and better has come around to take its place. Smoragsburg is a Brooklyn based open air market featuring local food clothing and craft vendors. If your perfect day consists of eating tacos, Thai food, and ice cream, followed with an ice cold michelada, this is where you need to be. Granada Hills Food Trucks

So, Its Friday night, you're bored and hungry, but can't decide what to do. Granada HIlls has the perfect solution to your problem. Every Friday night dozens of food trucks gather to offer a variety of tasty options, which is perfect for those of us who always have trouble committing to just one food. Some popular choices are The Grilled Cheese Truck, Holy Moly Mexican Food, Jagasaki for sushi burritos, and the Boba Truck. We recommend arriving around 5, as seating is limited, and lines form quickly. You can find the Granada Hills Food Trucks every Friday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Chatsworth and Zelzah.

Movies on the Green

Who needs movie theaters when we have free outdoor movies in Woodland Hills? Every Saturday from dusk (roughly between 7:00 and 8:00 P.M.) until 10 P.M. the Lou Bredlow Pavilion at Warner Center hosts free screenings open to the public. Bring a blanket or a low sitting lawn chair, snacks, and friends. There is a full concession stand, so don't sweat it if you start getting hungry mid-movie. On Saturday, May 14, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM all Neighborhood Fire Stations in the City of Los Angeles will be expecting your visit.

The second Saturday of each May is designated “Fire Service Recognition Day” because we are Your Los Angeles Fire Department and we place great value on our community relationships.  We hope you will come spend part of your day with us and learn about the services we offer, interact with firefighters, increase your fire safety knowledge and enjoy some FREE family fun.  This year’s theme reflects our extensive efforts in recruiting the next generation of firefighters.

During our Open Firehouse, we are honored to provide tours of Your Neighborhood Fire Station, fire safety and disaster preparedness education and free smoke alarms for your home (while supplies last).  The LAFD will also bestow the title “Honorary Fire Chief” on highly deserving community members recognized for their unwavering support of the LAFD.

Lancaster boasts one of California's most abundant crops of the vibrant poppies that are the state flower. For several years, the City of Lancaster co-sponsored the Wildflower Information Center with the Lancaster Woman's Club to cater to the interests of thousands of visitors who flocked to the Antelope Valley for a glimpse of these brilliant, beautiful flowers. Held at the Lancaster Museum/Art Gallery, visitors could pick up free wildflower maps and learn about the best viewing locations before heading out to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve.

2016 LA Beer Fest

The LA Beer Festival will feature over 200 beers, food trucks, DJs, live music, a dueling piano bar, and much more!  The event will take place at LA Center Studios from Noon to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm.   Admission is $45, with tickets including beer samplings.  Food is sold separately.  Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The LA Beer Festival’s proceeds will benefit Noah’s B-ark, Inc, whose aim is to rescue dogs from shelters and find permanent homes for rescued pets. Proceeds from the event will towards funding food, shelter, and veterinary bills for rescued pets.
